Monica Ripamonti was born in Italy
She graduated in piano at the G. Verdi Conservatory in Milan, she has won several prizes in competitions including the 2. Prize at the International Competition in Stresa and the first at the University of Milan.
Master classes at the University of Cologne with Prof. Gunter Ludwig and Norbert Brainin in chamber music.
Since 2000 she has been interested in harpsichord and baroque music, with a Harpsichord Study at the University of Music in Münster with Prof. Gregor Hollmann.
Since 1986 she has exercised a vast concert activity as a solo pianist and in chamber music with piano and violin especially in the United States, Germany, Mexico, Canada, Thailand, Jordan, Scandinavia, France, Italy, in the South Pacific etc.
She has participated in various festivals such as Mendocino, San Francisco, Dubrovnik, the Bach weeks in Thuringia and the Telemann days.
She has also been a soloist with various classical and baroque orchestras.
She is the harpsichordist of the Mitteldeutsche Barock-Compagney (Mibacom) and of the Erfurter Barockensemble.
For years she has been teaching piano at the J.S. Bach Civic Music School in Eisenach, Bach's hometown.
She is the harpsichordist of the Bach House Museum in Eisenach, where she frequently performs concerts on period instruments that can be booked directly in the museum.
In 2019 she recorded the sonatas of Johann Ernst Bach with harpsichord and the baroque violinist Hans Christoph Fichtner in collaboration with the Bachhaus in Eisenach, the first existant recording of these sonatas.
